New Crew #1: Story Synopsis

In the jaded town of New Viras City, alien invasions are old news and mutant power struggles are passé. Amid this cynicism, a new breed of superhero has arisen: The New Crew! 100% poll driven, market tested, and focus group approved.

In the shadow of these beloved celebrities, a solo superheroine named Virtue toils away in obscurity. When the self-proclaimed "Indignant Bomber" targets New Viras City, both Virtue and the New Crew set out to bring him to justice. However, when the rival heroes cross paths, all they get for their efforts is disaster. Suddenly, with the city ablaze and a bomber at large, the New Crew finds itself trapped in a public relations nightmare.

CHAPTER ONE: FIRST IMPRESSIONS

• A bomber desperate for revenge. A superheroine in the shadows, desperate to stop him. And a super-hero team desperate for television news coverage. Which will burn brighter -- the terrorist's firebombs, or the media spotlight?

CHAPTER TWO: BEHIND THE EDITOR'S DESK

• As the city burns, the New Crew faces its greatest challenge: To prove to the world that it's not whether you win or lose -- it's how you lay the blame.

INTERLUDE: VIRTUE BEGINS AT HOME

• What motivates a woman to fight for justice, alone and in secret? Will she ever be appreciated by those she serves and protects? (And most importantly, will her mother approve?)

CHAPTER THREE: MEANWHILE, BACK AT HEADQUARTERS...

• Out of the spotlight and out of view of the cameras, the real dynamics of the New Crew boils over. Can our brave heroes survive the insults, accusations, rivalries, and conference meetings with stale donuts?

CHAPTER FOUR: A LONG NIGHT'S DAZE

• It's the climactic showdown. But which is really the biggest rivalry: between the heroes and the bomber, or between the heroes themselves?
